With our Unifix cubes we built towers, created patterns, measured ourselves and made a giant train that stretched from one side of the classroom to the other. It is important that children have opportunities to work with all the materials they will be using later for various counting tasks. Experiencing them in their own ways will help students become comfortable using them mathematically in the future.
