During math centers, students used questions about size, shapes, proportions and their properties to create a unique pattern using blocks. Once the pattern was made, the children used stickers in various shapes to make a replica of their creation. We use these manipulatives often so it was a surprise when we transformed our creations into turkey tails and then made a record of the shapes we used. We were impressed with the student's creativity and ability to complete the task!

Count Your Tail Feathers-Morning
To practice addition and subtraction, we rolled a die to determine how many feathers to add or take away from our Thanksgiving turkeys. It was a fun way to get prepped up for Turkey Day while improving our small motor skills and brilliant math brains.
Turkey Games-Kprep Morning
During centers we worked to improve our memory, concentration and focus by playing Thanksgiving games. We rotated through three centers each designed to challenge our minds in a different way. It was just what we needed to get prepped up for Turkey Day while improving our brain power!
