Our students LOVED putting their hands to work by pounding golf tees into a pumpkin. We challenged them to make a shape or pattern as they pounded. If you could get inside your child's mind while they were hard at work on this activity, we think you'd hear something like this, "When I am working with these tools I feel very grown up! I feel trusted. I am learning how to create something I have visualized in my head. When I work with a friend I have to cooperate and explain my ideas. I am working on my fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. I am problem-solving. I get to be creative and use my imagination!"
