Squishy Fingers-Morning

Sensory experiences are like food for the mind. They provide valuable input that allows the brain to build new pathways that support growth in crucial areas of development. Since we know that young children rely on sensory input to learn about their environment, this became an ideal time to focus on language stimulation in a meaningful context. During our Halloween sensory bin activity we talked about what we could see, feel, smell, move, and hear. We described the experience using words like wet, dry, slimy, solid, liquid, drippy, squishy, yucky, gooey, and fun! Our descriptive word list was a perfect way to celebrate the upcoming Halloween holiday.
