After reading Happy Easter by Kurt Wiese we attempted to match our chick with the pattern found on an egg, just like they do in the book. Pattern matching enables children to learn and grasp the concepts of patterns and sequencing in a fun way. In this simple activity, students study the pattern and identify the colors and shapes needed to recreate it. This task helps lay the foundation for logical thinking as well as practice the names of basic colors, shapes and symbols.
