Science for young children should involve asking questions, probing for answers, conducting investigations and collecting data. Science, rather than being viewed as the memorization of facts, becomes a way of thinking and trying to understand the world. One of the best ways we have found to teach and reinforce science concepts is by using non-fiction books. Our big books about spiders gave us a large and in depth view of spiders and their habitats.
