Children are concrete learners until around the age of 12. Using manipulatives to teach math is the best way to give children real experiences with shapes and their properties. Using pattern blocks we explored geometry. What do you know? The students created patterns, geometric designs, and sorted shapes into groups all without direction. Pretty impressive if you ask us!
