Witch Finger-Kprep Morning

Pointing to the print is a critical strategy during the early stages of learning to read. To help children make the connection that print is guiding the speech of the reader, we gave them each a scary witch finger to use. Students learn where words begin and end on the page, and the direction print moves - from left to right and top to bottom on a page. Pointing can also be used to identify specific print features such as lines, phrases, words, letters or punctuation.
