In our math center, we had a blast creating shapes and designs by placing rubber bands on Geoboards. Not only was this activity math related, but also supports the development of fine motor skills. Preschool students need to have the strength and dexterity in their hands and fingers in order to manipulate a pencil properly. We were proud to show off the strength in our hands and our knowledge of shapes to create many original designs. It was neat to see several students hook their boards together for a collaboration. A few of us were so pleased with our skills that the Geoboards got placed in our backpacks right along with the rest of the days work.
